“Amiscape Woods” means: ‘ami’ - short for ‘Amisk’ - this jewel of a lake that the lots front onto, and also for ‘friends’ - as in friends of the environment and a community of friends. "Amisk" is the Cree word for ‘beaver’; 'scape' for the magnificent west-facing ‘view’ and for 'escape' to natural serenity/beauty; and ‘woods’ for sylvan wilderness and fauna.
